Pečky is a town in Kolín District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 4,800 inhabitants. The village of Velké Chvalovice is an administrative part of Pečky. Pečky is located about 35 kilometres (22 mi) east of Prague. It lies in a flat agricultural landscape of the Central Elbe Table. It lies on the left bank of the Výrovka stream. The first written mention of Pečky is in a donation deed of King Ottokar I from 1225.
