El Bosque (Spanish for "the forest") is a commune of Chile located in Santiago Province, Santiago Metropolitan Region. The commune spans an area of 14.1 km2 (5 sq mi). According to the 2002 census of the National Statistics Institute, El Bosque spans an area of 14.1 km2 (5 sq mi) and has 175,594 inhabitants (86,435 men and 89,159 women), and the commune is an entirely urban area. The population grew by 1.6% (2,740 persons) between the 1992 and 2002 censuses.
