The Association of Health Care Journalists is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing public understanding of health care issues. Its mission is to improve the quality, accuracy and visibility of health care reporting, writing and editing. There are more than 1,500 members of AHCJ. The Association is based in Columbia, Missouri, at the Missouri School of Journalism. The Current Board of Directors includes professionals from the Boston Globe, STAT, the University of Georgia, Spectrum, NPR, MedPage Today, PBS Ideastream, and Des Moines Register.
