The song contains a prominent sample from Stevie Nicks' song "Edge of Seventeen". It was released as the second single from Survivor on May 22, 2001, by Columbia Records. "Bootylicious" was a commercial success, becoming the group's fourth and final US Billboard Hot 100 number-one single. It also reached the top five in Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
