Békéscsaba (Hungarian pronunciation: ; Slovak: Békešská Čaba; see also other alternative names) is a city with county rights in southeast Hungary, the capital of Békés County. Békéscsaba is located in the Great Hungarian Plain, 215 km (134 mi) southeast from Budapest. Highway 44, 47, Békéscsaba beltway (around the city) and Budapest-Szolnok-Békéscsaba-Lőkösháza high speed (120–160 km/h (75–99 mph)) railway line also cross the city.
