Anavra (Greek: Ανάβρα) is a village and a former community in Magnesia, Thessaly, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform, it has been part of the municipality Almyros, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 121.859 km2. According to the census of 2011, the population of Anavra was 584 citizens. The village of Anavra is located on the west side of Mount Othrys, at a height of 900 metres (3,000 ft) above sea level, 72 kilometres (45 mi) from Magnesia's administrative center of Volos and close to the border of Phthiotis. The Enipeas river, which is a tributary of the Pineios, starts at the springs of Anavra and passes through the village for two kilometres. More information...
